“My job: To make humans more human”
“At the heart of my craft is finding power in the faintest of voices, fragility in the surest of sounds, eternity in shortest of phrases and transformation from the simple act of listening as time passes; to create materials for the self-expression of others, to shine light in the darkest of places and times, to affirm the dignity and beauty in each of us and to see each of us, in each other.”

BRIEF BIO
MICHAEL GREBLA
COMPOSER
Western Australia | New York City
Spreading music described as “a testament to the universal strength and endurance of the human spirit” by Cut-Common Magazine, Michael is an international award-winning emerging composer from Western Australia based in New York City. With a deep conviction for the role music play as a unifying mechanism in society, constructing identity and building community, he endeavours to create meaningful and inclusive cultural experiences, bridging tradition and the present through his music. In recent years his works have dealt with ideas of journey, displacement, transience, and spirituality, offering his own deeply introspective expression and examination of the human experience.
“Unlike the day-to-day of office work, supporting music composition allows me to be a part of the creation of something deeply human that brings us together. Doing this through Michael gives me the comfort that it will be pursued with relentless dedication”
I am proud to create music that is the product of the goodwill and generosity of a diverse community of supporters. Everybody should be able to have a role in advancing the art and have a voice in the direction of our cultural landscape. I invite you to join me and be a part of my compositions as a co-commissioner.
